PCSIR’s renowned microbiologist Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirani says, “Misuse of antibiotics is quite common in our society and one of the key factors for promoting antibiotic resistant bacteria. If not controlled, it may lead us to pre-antibiotic era, where infectious diseases were major causes of morbidity and mortality”. He was speaking at Dr. Saleem-uz-Zamaan Siddiqui Memorial Lecture entitled “Antibiotic Resistance and Our Community” at Lecture Hall, PCSIR Labs Complex, Karachi on December 2, 2015.
The seminar was organised by Seminar Committee, PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi. Mrs. Askari Begum, Ex-Director P&D was the guest of honor at this occasion.
She applauded the efforts of Seminar Committee for conducting such an informative lecture. She also praised the presenter for enlightening the audience with thoughtful data.
At the end of session a memorial certificate was presented to the speaker by the Gust of Honor.
Dr. Sarwat Ismail conducted the proceedings whereas the scientists and engineering from different centers of PCSIR were among the audience.
