PCSIR-KLC and Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) Sign MoU for Collaborative Initiatives

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) – Karachi Laboratories Complex (KLC) and Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) to foster collaboration in research and development (R&D) activities and human resource development on February 14, 2025.

The agreement was formally signed by Dr. Azam Khan, Registrar of JSMU, and Dr. Hafiz Rab Nawaz, Director General of PCSIR-KLC, during a ceremony held at PCSIR, Karachi. The event was attended by representatives from both institutions.

The JSMU delegation included:

  • Dr. Azam Khan (Registrar, JSMU)
  • Professor Muhammad Khalil Khan (Dean, SIOHS, JSMU)
  • Dr. Zubair Ahmad Abbasi (Principal, SIOHS, JSMU)
  • Dr. Wasif Iqbal (Vice Principal & Associate Professor, SIOHS, JSMU)

The PCSIR-KLC team was represented by the Director General, Director of Planning & Development (P&D), and all Heads of Centers (HoCs).

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address from the Director General of PCSIR-KLC. In his remarks, he outlined PCSIR’s vision, objectives, and contributions to scientific research and technological advancement.

This MoU marks a significant step toward strengthening collaboration between the two institutions, fostering joint research initiatives, academic exchange programs, and capacity-building efforts in science and healthcare.
