The Honorable Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Senator Shibli Faraz, visited PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi on Friday, 08th October 2021.
The Director General PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi, Dr. Shahnaz Perveen (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), the Director (Planning & Development) Dr. Atiq-ur-Rehman and all Heads of the Centers received the honorable Minister. The Minister also planted a sapling in the lawn.
First, the honorable Minister met with all the Heads of the centers in presence of the DG KLC and sought to know the performance, strength and weakness of the organization through informal discussions and appreciated that the laboratories are maintained very well.
During the visit of KLC, the honorable Minister visited different centers of PCSIR Labs. Complex, Karachi and discussed with concerned scientists regarding research projects, available testing facilities, achievements and current activities of PCSIR, Karachi. Minister also visited the cannabis (Hemp) lab and discussed about the extraction of CBD oil.
The Honorable Federal Minister emphasized in the conversation that attention should be paid to such research that improves public health. He also advised the researchers of PCSIR, Karachi to develop value added products and also construct business plan and make better marketing strategies for self-sustainability of PCSIR.
At the end, the Honorable Federal Minister appreciated the efforts of PCSIR researchers and assured his full cooperation for the betterment of S&T infrastructure in the country. Also he recommended the addition of modern equipment and improving the human resource area of the organization.
