3rd workshop “Application of HPLC in Pharmacognosy and Pharmacological Studies” of series WS-PCSIR-23 has successfully been organized on 11.10.2023.
Theme of the event was Real Time Practical Demonstration of in vivo Experiments on Rats and Sample Analysis on HPLC.
Dr. Salman Tariq Khan, Senior Scientific Officer (Incharge Bio-Organic section of PRC) organized the event headed by Dr. Rashid Ali Khan, CSO, HOD Pharmaceutical Research Center. Senior scientific officers naming Dr. Abdul Hafeez Laghari and Dr. Tehmina Sohail delivered lectures on relevant topics to highlight importance of technical side of the topic.
Theoretical lectures were followed by real time practical application experiments in which rats were sacrificed to demonstrate the ulcer effected, cured and control animal stomach. Quality control of herbal medicine used during experiments was performed on HPLC and demonstrated to all participants.
Undergraduates of different universities including Jinnah University for Women, Zabist, Bahria University Karachi, Dow University of Health Sciences participated in the workshop.
Dr. Hafiz Rub Nawaz, Director General PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi presided the event, distributed certificates among participants and appreciated the efforts of PCSIR scientist to render their services for capacity building.
